Cathryn's primary ambition From her earliest memory was to be an expert vocalist. She wrote her first original song at an early age. Her creativity and love of singing fueled her passion to become a professional musician and voice teacher.
Although Cathryn suffered from stage fright in her early experiences, she soon learned that God would be with her and would help her in all things.
Her private vocal training began in fourth grade with Katsumi Hagiwara. Cathryn was also actively involved in musical theater through her church and attended musical camps throughout her childhood. In high school, she received private classical training in voice from Lanisa Keith.
In college, Cathryn drove home every Wednesday to lead worship for her church youth group. Following her service in the Navy, she moved to Hollywood and studied private voice from Griffith Frank, an award-winning singer and RIAA certified multi-platinum songwriter. Mr. Frank's voice was made famous on the soundtrack of the musical Nine.
Currently, Cathryn leads worship at Covenant Life Church (Sunday and for the youth group). She is also a recording artist, having recorded vocals for a musical theatre project with Griffith Frank and a professional choir. Cathryn is currently recording a project in a Fort Worth Studio featuring her original songs.
As an experienced classroom teacher, she enjoys helping students realize their potential and grow deeper in their worship through the development of their talents and skills.
Cathryn holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Early Childhood Studies from California Baptist University and a Master's in Psychology from Brandman University.
