Mike Pacheco
Saxophone, Flute

Originally from Rhode Island, Mike began playing saxophone at 10 years old. By the time he reached High School, he had also picked up the clarinet and flute. By 15, he was playing professionally and performing dance music for weddings, balls, Christmas and New Year’s parties.

After high school, he was accepted at Manhattan School of Music in New York City, where he had an opportunity to study saxophone with Joe Allard (a renowned saxophone and clarinet teacher). Mike learned fro Joe that, “one does not play the saxophone with the tongue, teeth, lips, diaphragm, or fingers. One plays saxophone with the ear, with the heart, and with feeling!”

Mike has been married to his beautiful wife, Roxy, for 34 years. He has 3 sons and a beautiful grand daughter. For almost 20 years, Roxy has enjoyed hearing Mike play with many rock, funk & jazz bands (including big band swing music and musicals like "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Bye Bye Birdie"), as well as hearing him play on worship teams across the DFW area.
